JULIAN SCHNABEL
03/29/95 2:00 P.M.    Visit Julian Schnabel at his studio to take new portraits. Annette Lemieux in from Boston comes along to say hi. He's done the place over since I last visited in 1992. Apparently, the house and studio were in Vogue a month or so ago. His assistants move the paintings around as my assistant sets up the lights. 1 sec. F11 for stobe and skylight balance. Afterwards, Julian plays a tape of his upcoming musical release as the three of us awkwardly stand together in the middle of the studio surrounded by huge canvases. The music takes over and a half hour passes quickly despite the concrete floor. Julian sings along quietly. We are given cassettes of the music..."Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud." Gary Oldman worked on it with him and legendary Bill Laswell produced it. I remember driving out to Brooklyn one night years ago to take pictures of Laswell.
